Georeferenced Map for Social and Health Services

In Tuscany, the foreign resident population is 387,350, about 8% of the total population, and 53% thereof is women (Istat data updated January 1 2014).

In order to strengthen the existing good practices in Local Health Enterprises and University Hospitals of the Tuscany Region, the Centre for Global Health has mapped available information regarding services for migrant users, with particular attention to linguistic-cultural mediation services. The Centre also wanted to make available online the contact information of migration health and administration representatives, useful reference points for operators who have to manage relationships with foreign nationals. Providing these important references may be an opportunity to promote further joint initiatives and more effective intervention in the region.
